NABA
is the national leadership organization for US breastfeeding promotion.
Its mission is to protect, support, and promote breastfeeding by:
- raising public and professional awareness of breastfeeding as
a public health issue,
- watching and promoting local, state, and federal legislation
and policy related to breastfeeding and maternal/child health,
- issuing positive breastfeeding messages and educational papers,
- countering media discrediting of breastfeeding,
- developing grassroots breastfeeding advocacy programs, and
- publishing a newsletter and action alerts by fax, e-mail and
electronic bulletin boards.
Infant Feeding Action Coalition (INFACT) Canada, a non-profit, non-governmental
organisation, works to promote optimal infant and maternal health
through the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding.
INFACT Canada is an active member of the International Baby Food
Action Network (IBFAN) and is the North American representative
for IBFAN.
The
International Baby Food Action Network is a worldwide coalition
of citizen groups working for better child health through the promotion
of breastfeeding and the elimination of irresponsible marketing
of commercial infant foods, bottles and teats. IBFAN's members seek
to promote and monitor compliance with the WHO/UNICEF
International Code for the Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes .There
are now more than 150 groups in 70 countries participating in IBFAN.
They keep in touch through a system of 9 Regional Representatives
and 3 Central Office coordinators. Some of the IBFAN constituent

Baby
Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save
infant lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate
infant feeding. Baby Milk Action works within a global network to
strengthen independent, transparent and effective controls on the
marketing of the baby feeding industry.
