Parents 375 Lexington Ave New York, NY 10017 Thank you for publishing the "Yes, You Can Breastfeed Twins (or Triplets!)" article in the August 2006 issue. The article had great information and resources. I know that the article mentioned that sometimes supplemental formula is needed in the beginning of feeding multiples, but I wish you had included information on how to wean off of formula. Weaning off of formula would be a great topic for an article in a future issue, as many moms (of single babies or multiples) often start supplementing formula, but don't really know how to wean off of formula and begin to nurse more and more. One great resource would be the protocol for increasing milk supply by Dr. Jack Newman (www.drjacknewman.com). Many mothers who supplement experience a one-way supply decrease, and are unaware that there are steps they can take to increase the amount of breast milk or to go completely back to exclusive breastfeeding. Many mothers are unaware that they can also relactate even if their supplies have disappeared or they think they have to give up. Thanks for all your breastfeeding articles. It takes a lot to counter the massive amount of formula promotion and advertising mothers see in magazines, in email, on TV and through regular mail.
