Buena Vista Street Burbank, CA 91521-4551 Dear Ms. Sweeney, I was so excited during the February 26th episode of Grey's Anatomy, to see Dr. Bailey breastfeeding and the noticable lack of bottles! The American Association of Pediatrics states "Effectively supporting breastfeeding is as important to preventive pediatric health care as promoting immunizations, car seat use, and proper infant sleep position." (http://www.aap.org/advocacy/bf/brhist.htm) You probably would not even consider showing the doctor drive her baby in the car without a car seat. It is nice to see ABC in step with that same ethical desire by showing the doctor breastfeeding. Seeing a doctor breastfeeding speaks louder than all the "Breast is Best" information in medical articles or handouts for new moms. By showing Dr. Bailey breastfeeding on Grey's Anatomy ABC may be starting to truly further its goal of building “A Better Community.” Thank you,
