Dear Britney Spears, Congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope you are happy and healthy, and that you and Kevin are enjoying this special time in your lives. I wish you the best. I'm writing to encourage you to breastfeed your baby. You are probably aware that there has been a huge amount of scientific research that indicates that breastfeeding is the best way to feed your baby. Breastmilk provides all the building blocks needed for your baby's growth and development, plus antibodies that fight infections that are not provided by artificial infant formula. Research has shown that breastmilk has at least 100 substances not found in infant formula. Infant formula has also been linked to higher rates of allergies and asthma in children. Breastfeeding is a wonderful way for a mother to bond with baby and a great way to get back to your pre-pregnancy weight. Not only is it the best choice for baby's physical development, but it fufills the need for closeness to you, too. Breastfeeding allows you to nurture baby's heart, mind, and body.
